Every grooming style has its place. The difference is in the drying, the prep and the finish, and how much time goes into each one.
A fluff-dry finish takes more time and more hands-on care, so we take fewer dogs each day, and our pricing reflects that. We know it isn’t the right fit for everyone, and that’s okay. If you’re looking for something quicker or simpler, there are wonderful groomers who specialize in exactly that.

Do you use cage dryers?
No. Every dog is dried by hand, with a groomer beside them the whole time.
Do you offer hand stripping?
Yes, as a spa addition, along with de‑shedding, de‑matting, medicated shampoo, teeth brushing and nail grinding.
What products do you use?
Organic, hand‑made shampoos and skin care from local makers.
Can my dog get groomed during a boarding stay?
Yes. Our spa refresh gives your dog a bath and brush‑out before pickup, so they come home fresh and clean.
Do you accept unneutered dogs?
Yes, as long as they’re manageable and friendly with people. We can’t accept females in heat.
How often should my dog be groomed?
It depends on the coat. Many doodle and curly coats do best with a professional groom every four to eight weeks, with brushing at home in between. We’ll suggest a schedule after your dog’s first visit.
Do you groom doodles and poodles?
Yes, often. Teddy faces, rounded feet and soft, full fluff‑dried finishes are some of our favorite cuts.
Do you shave double‑coated dogs?
No. We don’t clip double coats like Goldens, Shepherds or Huskies. Instead we de‑shed them with a bath, blow‑out and thorough brush‑out.
Can I book my puppy’s first groom?
Yes. Every dog, puppies included, completes a temperament evaluation first. Read our guide to your puppy’s first groom.

Before you book
Please have everything below ready. Without it, we’re unable to schedule your dog’s temperament evaluation, which every new guest completes before their first stay or daycare day.
- Current vaccines, with records from your vet: Rabies, DHPP (distemper/parvo) and Bordetella. Leptospirosis is not required, but we highly recommend it.
- A negative fecal test for Giardia within the last 6 months
- Free of fleas and ticks
- Free of any symptoms, including suspected allergies. Coughing, sneezing or runny eyes can be an undiagnosed upper respiratory infection, so please wait until your vet has cleared your dog.
- Senior dogs in good health must be pre‑approved with clearance from your vet. For their own safety, we’re unable to accept dogs with severe health issues.
- Your online profile completed: owner profile, pet profile and the signed Uptown Paw agreement
Dogs over 6 months who aren’t spayed or neutered: $10 per day or night. We can’t accept females in heat.
